Small Town Charm to eComm
When The Creamery, a small eatery and farmer-operated store based in Beaver, Utah, needed to expand its online presence and distribution, ecommerce seemed like the right solution. But The Creamery had become more than just a growing dairy supplier with an increased demand for product nationwide. The company, in partnership with Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), had a story to tell. The well-known creamery was not only providing high-quality, real dairy products to the community, they were also supporting local farmers and providing better lives for those around them.
Bringing Small Town Charm to eComm
Established in 1952, The Creamery had deep roots within its small community. For 67 years, local dairy farmers—all within a 25 miles radius—were making the cheese and other dairy products that were attracting visitors along Interstate 15. What made these products so notorious was the real ingredient, real nutrients and, most importantly, real flavor, that travelers from all over the state were enjoying.
As word spread about the real dairy products in Beaver, Utah, the company had to grow as well. In 2018, The Creamery built a 12,000-square-foot facility roughly 200 miles outside of Salt Lake City in order to grow production and meet demand. In addition, they needed an online website to sell products and process payments. Brick-and-mortar sales alone would no longer reach their growing customer base. In addition to telling their history and selling their product via their new website, The Creamery wanted to ensure their sense of local community was kept in tact. They wanted all consumers to feel the sense of community that was felt in Beaver, Utah. In order to do so, they needed a back-end program that would allow for personalized notes to go along with each shipment.
Full Shop Experience
In order to accomplish these goals, MBB partnered with The Creamery and DFA. The website DFA developed provides a full ecommerce solution for The Creamery to sell their products online. It features a full shop experience, along with account functionality and ordering, all built upon WordPress’s most popular ecommerce plugin, WooCommerce. Establishing SKU numbers and entering inventory for all products was included in the build.
While The Creamery continues to grow its online presence and nationwide sales, the site has received its own national attention. In 2019, it received the Food Industry Standard of Excellence WebAward for its excellence in website development, Internet advertising, and online marketing.
