Illuminating hope.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC) reduces the burden of childhood illness on families. Every year, the MBB team rallies around this cause with the hope of inspiring all of Kansas City to do the same. We bring to life their annual gala, which is the spark that sets all the good they do into motion.
In 2022, MBB was asked to rebrand the decades-long fundraiser to be a refined representation of how RMHC-KC serves the community. From the name of the event to the brand elements, they trusted us with it all. Since then, we have continued to build momentum for the event and the standard for fundraising.
A universe of infinite possibility.
The theme for the 2023 Spark Gala—Celestial Dreams—acknowledged that, day or night, we are committed to being a light for the sick children and their families who stay at RMHC-KC. The sun lives at the center of our universe and can be our source for joy, warmth, and hope for tomorrow. And yet, it is the moon and the stars that shine in the darkness of night. The stars provide the courage we need to conquer the night, and the moon reminds us that change is always possible. The sun and the moon live in parallel in a galaxy of dreams. The dark nights bring sunny days. And sunsets bring shooting stars. They create a universe of wonder and of infinite possibility.
Igniting a light.
Light represents hope for tomorrow during families’ darkest and most trying times. We incorporated the stars that shine in the night sky with the art deco elements that have come to represent Spark. Gradient designs were added to symbolize movement from darkness to light, from sorrow to joy. Designs were brought to life with invitations, programs, signage, displays and installations.
To the moon and back.
The evening resulted in raising over $1 million and continued RMHC’s promise to offer hope—and light—to families who need it most.
