Dog With A Blog: 3rd Annual MBB Dog Blog

As a kid, my favorite book was “Martha Speaks.” In the book, family pet Martha eats a bowl of alphabet soup, but the letters go to her head instead of her stomach, giving her the ability to speak. For this year’s Bring Your Dog to Work Day celebration, we bustted out a few soup bowls* and put our pups in the hot seat to answer a few of our burning questions.

*No animals were harmed, bullied, or forced to eat soup in the making of this blog.

Charlie

Cockapoo—cocker spaniel + poodle

Age: 7

Loved By: Sarah Grace, Account Coordinator

How did you come to find your family?

After years and years of “Why We Need a Dog” PowerPoint presentations, my family finally gave in. I was supposed to belong to Sarah Grace, but I’m way too lovable for that. But don’t worry, there’s enough Charlie to go around!

What’s your favorite activity?

Probably eating. I. LOVE. SCRAMBLED. EGGS. I swear, if I concentrate hard enough, I can smell the egg before anyone even cracks it.

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?

One time I accidentally did drugs. Well, I ate a coffee bean. I was so little at when it happened! I’m pretty sure I could hear time.

What would be on the “special skills” section of your puppy resume?

#1 Cuddle Queen

Coco Loco Beckham, née Larson

Shih Tzu

Age: 12

Loved by: Danielle, Director of Project Management

What’s up with “Coco”? Is your mom a big Pixar fan?

Well, I was a pretty brown color as a puppy, but with old age my fur has lightened. My mom’s Hispanic, so she called me “loco” a lot those first few years. I never really understood what it means…

How did you come to find your family?

My mom got me on a whim. She had never had a pet before, so I am her first fur love, and let’s be real, she hit the jackpot.

Who would play you in a movie?

Personally, I would say Sandra Bullock. She has a bit of edge to her, so I think she would just get me. Plus everyone loves her just like they love me.

What song best describes your life?

“What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. I’ve always been an old soul.

Rooney

What’s your personality like?

Happy, Snuggly, Loyal AF, Stubborn

Who would play you in a movie?

A young Paul Newman

We hear you have a bit of a mean streak…

I may have murdered a rabbit while my mom helplessly watched. At the advice of my attorney, I plead the fifth.

What would be on the “special skills” section of your puppy resume?

Securing the homeland (keeping the squirrels out of my yard) or taking up 60% of a queen-sized bed with my tiny body.

Millie & Louie

Cockalier—cocker spaniel + King Charles cavalier

Ages: Millie (7) Louie (5)

Loved by: Erin Jurado, Account Supervisor

How did you get your name?

Millie: My mom named me Millie because I’m cute as a button, and literally there is no other name that would fit me.

Louie: I’m named after my mom’s hometown (St. Louis), but really, most of the time, she calls me shit head.

What’s your personality like?

Millie: I’m a dainty little princess who loves to cuddle and can do no wrong.

Louie: All I want to do is play. Thankfully, my little brother will play with me so I can get all my energy out. But I think maybe my favorite thing to do is pee on the carpet.

Who would play you in a movie?

Millie: I would play myself because I’m already a star. You can find me in vet clinics on the Hill’s brochures and on their website.

Louie: Bart Simpson

What would be on the “special skills” section of your puppy resume?

Millie: We are both our siblings’ protectors.

Louie: But also we protect the house from leaves and people walking by!

Walter Fordyce

Golden Retriever… working on the retrieving

Age: 3.5

Loved by: Jenny, Associate Director of Paid Media

How did you get your name?

My parents love a good old man name. Also, I wouldn’t respond to Pickles.

What’s your personality like?

Overly friendly, especially to non-dog people, with a big dose of neediness on the side. Also, I’m not afraid to compete with a toddler for attention.

Who would play you in a movie?

Owen Wilson

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?

Let myself out the front door to chase a dumb bunny. This required Dad to chase me in his robe down Ward Parkway. On second thought, this may be the best thing I’ve ever done.
