Adrian Steel, a manufacturing company specializing in equipment for fleet vehicles, found their installation process slowed down by an inefficient paper-based tracking system. They partnered with MBB for a digital transformation that streamlined their installation operations and optimized efficiency.  

Streamling a multi-step process

The organization’s dated installation process involved 15 steps, from receiving new vehicles to final inspections before shipping, that relied solely on a paper process. The complex, manual process had a number of weak points—tracking vehicles was difficult, efficiency opportunities were hard to identify, and the likelihood of errors was significant. The need was clear. Adrian Steel needed a complete digital overhaul to convert the paper-based process into a streamlined, efficient digital system.

A full digital overhaul

Our team stepped in to migrate the entire manual process to a digital platform, beginning with gaining deep insights into Adrian Steel’s existing workflow. From there, MBB set out to design and develop a user-friendly digital system. The process of doing so included:

Business Requirements and User Stories: MBB used these to design wireframes for both desktop and mobile interfaces, ensuring that all user interactions were clearly defined. 

Front-End Development: The team created digital screens based on user stories, connected to data endpoints provided by Adrian Steel’s internal development team.

Bar and QR Code Integration: To make vehicle check-ins and tracking more efficient, MBB introduced bar and QR code scanning for vehicle VIN readings and user logins.

Real-Time Data Dashboards: To ensure full visibility of the process, MBB developed a dashboard that displayed real-time data, allowing line supervisors to track progress and optimize resource distribution.
