MBB Scores 5 American Advertising Awards
2020 was defined by a global pandemic, economic turmoil, social unrest, and an exhausting presidential election. But, at MBB, we didn’t let that distract us from what we love to do—make work that matters. For us, we make it matter at the intersection of making it cool and making it smart. We are thankful to once again be recognized by the AAF-KC for our creative excellence in the art of advertising with five American Advertising Awards.
Ronald McDonald House Charities – Red Shoe Shindig
Gold – Public Service
As a long-time partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities – Kansas City, we’ve supported their annual fundraiser, the Red Shoe Shindig, for many years. But like all things in 2020, this year’s event had to be reimagined. We helped the nonprofit run a successful, virtual fundraiser to unite the community around an important cause, all while staying six feet apart.
Silver – Self-Promotion
When we embarked on rebranding MBB in late 2019, we wanted to keep the creative heritage of John Muller alive while looking forward with a strategic future in mind. We knew that while making cool work was fun and making smart work was imperative, what was most important to our clients was making work that matters. From a new position and website to new reels and swag, we gave MBB a complete rebrand for only the second time in the company’s nearly four-decade history.
MBB Holiday Gift
Silver – Self Promotion
No rebrand is complete without an announcement to both your agency employees and your current clients. In the spirit of Making it Matter, we made sure our holiday gift included everything someone would need to make the most of the next year. There was a custom coffee mug to keep people caffeinated. A calendar to help people stay accountable. And, a branded notebook to jot down big ideas. Side note: If we knew then what we know now, we definitely would have included a trash can for when everything went to crap in March. Hindsight is 20/20 though.
Green Hat Gin
Silver – Film and Video
Green Hat Gin approached us to help bring their unique brand story to life to create a clear and concise message that would connect not only with their audience but with distributors. We leaned into the heritage of the brand, celebrating the man who inspired the product—the man in the green hat. The result, just like the product, speaks for itself.
Eight and Sand
Silver – Film and Video
Eight & Sand Whiskey is a celebration of those who dared to be courageous enough to lead the way west with the transcontinental railroad. We got their brand story on track for them by raising a glass to those pioneers while at the same time sharing what makes this whiskey unique. The story connected both with distributors and consumers alike.
